What residential plumbing includes

Residential work is broad by definition, because a home's plumbing is broad. The list below is the whole-home scope this page covers, and each item is diagnosed on its own terms before any repair is priced.

  • Fixture repair and installationToilets, sinks, taps, showers and tubs are repaired at the failed component or replaced where the fixture itself has failed, with seals, traps and shutoffs checked as part of the job.
  • Drain clearing and diagnosisSlow and blocked drains are cleared and flow-tested, and recurring problems are diagnosed with camera inspection where the cause is unclear, rather than cleared repeatedly on hope.
  • Leak detection and repairVisible and hidden leaks, from dripping taps to damp walls and high water bills, are traced to their source before repair, because a leak repaired at the wrong place is not repaired at all.
  • Water heater repair and installationWater heaters are diagnosed to their failed component or replaced where the unit itself has failed, with capacity checked against household demand.
  • Pipe repair and replacementLeaking, corroded or damaged supply and waste pipe is repaired or replaced in section, with the extent of damage assessed before the repair is priced.
  • Sewer and main-line workMain-line backups and sewer problems are diagnosed with camera inspection where appropriate, and the repair that follows rests on footage, not on symptoms alone.

Conyers homes are the core of this service, and they span a wide age range: 1970s homes with ageing pipework, 1990s subdivision homes on original systems, and remodelled homes where new fixtures meet older lines. Diagnosis respects each home's age and history.

Residential plumbing in Conyers, explained plainly

A home's plumbing is three systems in one: supply lines that bring water in under pressure, fixtures that use it, and drains and sewers that carry it away, all vented so drains can actually drain. A failure in any one system shows up in another's symptom: a vent problem looks like a drain problem, a supply leak looks like a damp problem, and a water heater problem looks like a fixture problem. That is why whole-home plumbing is diagnosed as a system, not as a list of rooms. Conyers homes make that system view especially valuable, because a city median year built of 1993 and a county median of 1990, with roughly a third of Rockdale stock in the 1978 to 1995 polybutylene window by decade derivation, mean many homes carry mid-life systems where the question is not whether a pipe is new, but whether it is still sound, and a check-for-it cohort, not a confirmed count, is the honest way to describe that group.

Water and sewer context completes the picture. Rockdale Water Resources supplies most of Conyers from surface water, its 2025 report records no violations, and sewer arrangements are parcel-by-parcel, with city and denser areas sewered and larger-lot and south-Rockdale parcels commonly septic. A whole-home plumber in Conyers works with that context on every visit. For guidance on hiring, see our guide on what Conyers homeowners should check before hiring a plumber, and for hidden leaks, which are the whole-home problem most often missed, our guide to detecting a hidden water leak explains the checks that find them.

A home is one system, so a problem in one room is checked against the whole house.

How a residential plumbing visit works

Whole home, one method: listen, look, test, price, fix, prove.

  1. Call and describe the home problem

Call and describe the home problem

Call +1 770-897-1640 during business hours and tell us the room, the fixture or drain, and how long the problem has behaved that way. Whole-home context, such as other drains behaving oddly, is useful and worth mentioning.

  2. Inspect the system, not just the symptom

Inspect the system, not just the symptom

On site we inspect the affected fixture or drain and the system around it: supply, trap, vent, shutoff and, where relevant, the main line. A symptom in one room can have its cause in another.

  3. Written price before work

    Written price before work

You get the scope and the price in writing before work starts, including whether repair of a part or replacement of a fixture or section is the honest answer.

  4. Repair, install or replace

    Repair, install or replace

We complete the agreed work, with seals, traps, shutoffs and joints checked as part of the job, and work areas left clean as we go.

  5. Test the whole affected system

    Test the whole affected system

We test the finished work in operation and check related fixtures and drains where the system connects, so a fix in one room has not created a problem in another.

Tools and methods we use for residential plumbing

  • Local service area

    System-wide inspection

The affected fixture plus the supply, drain, vent and shutoff around it, because a home's plumbing fails as a system, not as isolated rooms.

  • Local service team

    Fixture operation testing

Fixtures tested in operation, flushed, run and timed, so failures are proven rather than assumed from a description.

  • Local service team

    Drain camera inspection

Used where a drain or sewer cause is unclear, so a repair rests on footage rather than on symptoms.

  • Backflow Prevention and Testing

    Leak tracing

Damp, staining and high bills traced to seal, supply, drain or fixture, using inspection and testing to separate the causes.

  • Call and confirm certification

    Water heater diagnosis

Heaters diagnosed to component or unit failure, with capacity checked against household demand before replacement is recommended.

  • Locate and identify the assembly

    Pipe condition assessment

Supply and waste pipe assessed for corrosion, age and damage before a repair is priced, so a section repair is not offered where a wider problem exists.

  • Test with a differential gauge

    Shutoff verification

Fixture and main shutoffs verified, because a home without usable shutoffs cannot isolate a problem without a building-wide shutdown.

  • Local service area

    2024 IPC with Georgia Amendments

Residential work in Conyers follows the 2024 International Plumbing Code with Georgia Amendments, effective 1 January 2026, and Georgia plumbing work as a business is state-licensed work.

When Conyers homeowners call about residential plumbing

  • Several fixtures misbehave at once

Multiple symptoms together point to a system cause, such as a main line or a vent problem. We diagnose the system, not just the loudest fixture.

  • A leak appears somewhere unexpected

Damp, staining or a high water bill without a visible source is traced systematically, because a hidden leak left running damages far more than the room it started in.

  • An old home's plumbing needs a health check

Mid-life and older homes benefit from a system check: supply condition, trap and seal condition, heater age, and drain behaviour, reported plainly without a sales agenda.

  • A remodel needs plumbing moved or added

We rough in and finish supply, waste and fixture connections to the remodel plan, confirming positions and shutoff access before walls and cabinets close.

  • A home purchase needs plumbing evidence

A pre-purchase check, including camera inspection where appropriate, gives a buyer evidence about drains, heaters and pipe condition, not just a general reassurance.

How residential plumbing runs in Conyers

Residential plumbing in Conyers is a story of ages and parcels. Homes built in the 1970s carry pipework now past 45 years old, 1990s homes carry original mid-life systems, and remodelled homes carry the join between new and old. Water comes mostly from Rockdale surface sources, sewer is parcel-by-parcel, and red clay, mature roots and summer storms shape drains and buried lines across the city. A whole-home visit in Conyers works with all of that, house by house, rather than applying one era's assumptions to every home.

  • Olde Town ConyersOlder homes here more often present ageing pipework, original fixtures and seal problems, and a whole-home visit here starts with condition, not with the newest fixture.
  • FieldstoneNewer subdivision homes here more often present component failures and remodel joins, which are part-level or connection-level repairs.
  • Honey CreekLarger homes here can mean more fixtures sharing stacks and longer service runs, so a problem in one room is checked against the system before it is treated as isolated.
  • Lake CapriHomes near the lake follow the same whole-home rules, with storm, ground-water and parcel arrangements considered as context for drains and buried lines.
  • Mid-life systemsWith a 1990s median build and a significant 1970s cohort, many Conyers homes are at the age where checking, rather than assuming, is the right approach to pipes, heaters and drains.
  • Parcel-by-parcel sewer and waterSewer is mixed across Rockdale County and some parcels are on well water. We check the parcel's arrangement before attributing a symptom, because the fix differs.

From problem to finished result

  • Whole-home mystery, system cause found

    Before

Several fixtures misbehaved at once: a slow drain here, a gurgling toilet there, and a tap that lost pressure. The homeowner feared multiple separate failures.

    After

System inspection traced the symptoms to a main-line issue, confirmed with camera footage. The main line was addressed on that evidence, and the scattered symptoms resolved together.

Scattered symptoms are usually one system cause. Diagnose the system, and the rooms stop looking like separate problems.

  • Hidden leak, traced before it spread

    Before

A water bill rose sharply with no visible leak, and the homeowner worried about a slab or wall leak.

    After

Tracing, including meter and fixture checks, located a leaking toilet supply that ran silently. The supply was repaired, the bill's cause was explained, and no wall was opened unnecessarily.

A high bill without a visible leak is a tracing job, not a guessing job. Meter checks and fixture tests find what eyes cannot.

  • Remodel plumbing, planned before walls closed

    Before

A kitchen and bathroom remodel needed supply and waste moved, and the homeowner wanted the plumbing settled before finishes went in.

    After

Supply, waste and fixture positions were roughed in to the remodel plan, shutoff access was confirmed, and finishes proceeded with the plumbing already proven.

Remodel plumbing is cheapest and cleanest before walls close. Positions and shutoffs agreed early prevent the expensive reopening later.

Residential plumbing problems we fix in Conyers

Whole-home problems are system problems. Here is how each common one is approached.

  • Multiple fixtures misbehaving together

    Multiple fixtures misbehaving together

We diagnose the system, including main line and venting, rather than repairing each fixture in turn. A shared cause, found once, fixes every symptom.

  • Hidden leaks and high water bills

Hidden leaks and high water bills

We trace leaks systematically, from meter to fixture, so the source is proven before any wall or floor is opened.

  • Ageing pipe and mid-life system wear

Ageing pipe and mid-life system wear

We assess pipe condition honestly, distinguishing a section repair from a wider problem, and we explain the difference before pricing anything.

  • Recurring drain problems

    Recurring drain problems

We diagnose recurring drains with inspection, including camera work where needed, rather than clearing the same drain repeatedly on hope.

A home whose plumbing is understood is a home whose problems stay small

  • System diagnosis, not room-by-room guessing

A home's plumbing is one system. Diagnosing it as a system finds shared causes that room-by-room repair misses.

  • Hidden problems found early

Tracing, meter checks and camera inspection find hidden leaks and main-line problems before they become structural damage.

  • Age-appropriate honesty

Mid-life and older homes are assessed on condition, not on age alone. A sound old pipe is not replaced, and a failing new part is not excused.

  • Written price before work

You approve the scope and the price in writing before we start. No firm price is published on this page. Call for a written price before work starts; any price discussion on this page is Oct-2026 Atlanta market data, not SoCo Plumbers' prices.

What Conyers homeowners should know about residential plumbing

Whole-home plumbing knowledge is mostly about systems and shutoffs: know how your home's parts connect, and know how to stop the water.

  • Know your main shutoff

Every household member should know where the main water shutoff is. In a burst or major leak, that knowledge saves more than any tool.

  • Scattered symptoms mean a system cause

When several fixtures misbehave together, resist fixing them one by one. A system diagnosis finds the shared cause once.

  • Age is information, not a verdict

A 1990s or 1970s home is not automatically a repipe, and a new home is not automatically sound. Condition, tested, decides.

  • No Accountability they replaced a toilet they broke but said they didn't, I complained about other things I found disrespectful only to get pushback, they cut holes they didn't need to cut. The plumbing work was good work but if your cutting holes go from stud to stud to make it easy on the homeowner to repair. And I didn't make a big deal of it but I got to different quotes first through a recommendation from a realtor that called and they quoted 3000 for plumbing and 14 hundred for sheet rock repair that turned into 3600 and no sheatrock repair.

  • Really nice people! The company is run by a husband-and-wife team, and they've both been very friendly and easy to work with. Their prices are reasonable, and once you're ready to get the work done, they get started right away. What I appreciated the most was that they stayed at my house well past normal business hours just to make sure I had running hot water and could take a shower that night. They installed my new pipes and water heater and made sure there were no leaks before leaving. As I've been checking out their work, I've also noticed how neat and careful they are. They aren't just tearing out my sheetrock unnecessarily. They're making clean cuts and even labeling the pieces they remove so my handyman can put them back when it's time to patch everything up. That means I won't have to buy a bunch of additional sheetrock, which will save me money on the repairs afterward. I really appreciate that they’re thinking about things like that while doing the job. So far, I'm very happy with the work and how they’ve handled everything. I'll update my review once the entire job is completed!
